3 mL (2 mL min.) Serum from 1 SST AND 3 mL (2 mL min.) Whole blood in 1 Lavender Top (EDTA) tube. Avoid hemolysis. Wrap tube in aluminium foil to protect from light. Overnight fasting & sampling before 12 noon is preferred. Avoid iron supplements for minimum 24 hours prior to specimen collection. Ship refrigerated. DO NOT FREEZE.
