Fine needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) is a minimally invasive procedure used to collect a sample of cells
or fluid
from
a suspicious lump
or area of the body.A thin needle is inserted into the area,
and a small amount of tissue
or fluid is withdrawn. The sample is then examined under a microscope by a pathologist to determine if it is cancerous
or benign.A normal FNAC result indicates that the cells examined are not cancerous.
