Follicular study- USG

A follicular study is a series of ultrasound scans used to monitor the development of follicles in the ovaries, which are small, fluid-filled sacs containing a developing egg. The study is typically conducted during the first half of a woman's menstrual cycle, starting around day 8 or 9. The scans track the growth of the dominant follicle(s) and assess the thickness of the uterine lining (endometrium). By observing these changes, doctors can determine the time of ovulation, which is crucial for fertility treatments and for couples trying to conceive naturally. This non-invasive procedure provides valuable information about a woman's reproductive health and helps in timing intercourse or fertility procedures like intrauterine insemination (IUI) or in-vitro fertilization (IVF).
