The glucose 2.0 hour post 75g load test, also known as the oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT), measures the body's ability to regulate blood sugar levels.
During the test, an individual fasts overnight, then drinks a sugary liquid containing 75 grams of glucose. Blood samples are taken at regular intervals, typically at 0, 1, and 2 hours after consuming the glucose. Elevated blood sugar levels at the 2-hour mark may indicate insulin resistance or diabetes.
